To imagine that the famous call to arms, "The British are Coming!" would only have been heard by patriots and not by British loyalists is patently absurd. Both sides, out of necessity, would have had to hear the same message, as they were neighbors!

For The Sun, to ridicule Sarah Palin by publishing the commentary "The Midnight Ride of Francis Scott Key" (June 10) by attorney Raymond Daniel Burke is a pure disgrace! Also, Mr. Burke must not be a student of history or he would know that Paul Revere was arrested at 1 a.m. by British troops!

His valiant call to arms was completed by William Dawes and Dr. Samuel Prescott. "The midnight ride" lasted about an hour! Although Mr. Revere was among the most fearless and dedicated patriot who may ever have lived, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote the poem and re-wrote history because Revere was easier to rhyme than Dawes.
