Vote no on Question 5

ElectionsExecutive BranchMartin O'Malley

Please urge your readers to vote no on Question 5 and reject the terribly gerrymandered congressional district plan passed by the Maryland General Assembly.

Those candidates elected under the current plan this November will not be affected. However, voter rejection of the plan will force the governor and legislature to pass a plan with compact districts.

I urge Gov. Martin O'Malley to establish a nonpartisan redistricting commission if the General Assembly cannot do better.
