As our hometown team celebrated their improbable overtime victory in Denver, a camera caught a glimpse of Peyton Manning exiting the field after a bitter defeat.
His expression was one of incredulity, one that said "that's not how it was scripted." The future Hall of Famer was obviously disgusted at the outcome. Wonderful.
The lovable Ravens have another opportunity to frustrate and embarrass yet another future Hall of Famer, the whining Tom Brady. How wonderful would it be to send the Patriots packing for the off season!
One thing I have learned during this sometimes surreal postseason is this: never, never doubt the positivity and intense focus and passion of Ray Lewis.
I want Ray and his fellow Ravens to surmount the Patriots and then finish this storybook postseason with a victory in New Orleans. I would then like Mr. Lewis to mimic the words of a William Shatner commercial: "It's good to be king."
After all, it would be a most fitting way to honor Mr. Lewis for his lauded career and catapult him into his next life endeavor, yes?
