Give Clinton a break

Think Clinton is unhealthy, imagine the national despair of a "President Trump."

Pillorying Hillary Clinton over her health just because she felt faint in the heat at the 9/11 memorial service and was later diagnosed with pneumonia is just another unfounded smear. Pneumonia doesn't always announce itself with knife-like stabs with every breath. I've had that kind and didn't know until the pain became unbearable and sent me to the hospital.

Nor does it always announce itself with 103 degree fever, lethargy and being unable to even pick up the phone to call an ambulance. I've had that kind, too, and nearly died from it.

Nor does it proclaim itself with a gleaming banner when one is feeling rundown, exhausted by campaigning or woozy in the heat and humidity of a three-hour memorial service in an open field with no chair, no shelter and no water to sip. I've had that kind, too, for weeks before finding out what it was.

It is patently ridiculous to blame Ms. Clinton for not being diagnosed sooner when she most likely had no idea she was ill. Please, folks, be reasonable. I'll bet every one of you has felt less than energetic several days before you consulted a doctor ("Hillary's health is a valid issue," Sept. 15).

Just leave her alone and listen to what she has to offer our country, as opposed to the blustering egomaniac who'll be elected if you keep hammering away at the better candidate.
