Which team had a worse off-season, the Orioles/Angelos organization or the Obama/O'Malley administrations?

As the bad news continues to roll in for the abomination called Obamacare, the Orioles continue to waste a chance of a lifetime to seriously compete in the baseball world.

Messrs. O'Malley and Obama wasted nearly a quarter billion dollars of taxpayers' hard-earned money on a health care web site and still have nothing to show for it except thousands of frustrated, uninsured Marylanders ("State sign-up costs mount," Feb. 11).

After 15 years of losing baseball, the Orioles finally crawled out of being cellar dwellers and built a pretty good team that is only is missing a few good players to put them with the baseball elite.

So what did they do? They traded baseball's best relief pitcher for a bucket of widgets and signed some 20 minor leaguers who will add little or nothing to the team's success.

You couldn't make up two more disastrous situations if you tried. Marylanders deserve better. Vote these mismanaging government leaders out of office at the next election and don't buy Oriole tickets to fill Peter Angelos' coffers. That's the only way to get their attention.
