I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank the entire Baltimore Orioles organization for a wonderful 2012 season. Having been an Orioles fan over the past 40-plus years, I have witnessed their success and have also stuck with them over the past 15 years since they last made the playoffs. This year was a special season as they turned their record around from 69 wins and 93 losses in 2011 to having 93 wins and 69 losses this season.
It was also special season with the 20-year anniversary for Oriole Park at Camden Yards and the unveiling of the six statues for the Oriole Hall of Fame players. However, what made this season so very special was that Orioles Magic returned to Baltimore and this team re-energized the entire Baltimore metropolitan area with their late-inning heroics and their willingness to play as a team.
Unlike some teams made up of overpaid veterans, the Orioles came together as a combination of players trying to turn their careers around as well as some young players from the farm system. So thank you to Peter Angelos, Andy McPhail, Dan Duquette, Buck Showalter, and the entire Baltimore Orioles team for a very special season that fans will remember for a long time.
