Red Sox versus the O's

Congrats to the Orioles on a terrific season, and boos to the Red Sox, who got a chance to pay us back for losing to us last year ("The suspense comes down to the final day," Oct. 3).

Unlike the O's, the Sox couldn't find the pride to field the best team they could. I've seen Little Leaguers play with more heart then the Sox. We gave them the Bambino and this is how they repay us?

What a great editorial ("Somewhere the sun is shining," Oct. 16). It almost helps. But, alas, it also reminds me of how much we lost when we lost Bart Giamatti.

Close but no cigar: O's will try again next year

Having read Jonathan Pitts and Jean Marbella's story about the pain of the Orioles loss in the ALCS, I really feel for the team and its fans ("Sorrow in Baltimore as team that swept us off our feet is swept by K.C.," Oct. 15).

Win or lose, Orioles a class act

Have to really respect our Baltimore Orioles for their conduct on and off the field and how there was no trash talk from our clubhouse ("Everything keeps coming up Royal blue," Oct. 15). The team overcame some personnel changes to give us fans an exciting baseball season.

After the red-hot Kansas City Royals completed a four-game sweep of the Orioles in the American League Championship Series, I'm still flaunting my team colors. For the first time in my life I can say I'm proud to be an Orioles fan ("There's no joy in Baltimore," Oct....

As a former Baltimore resident now living in Santa Fe, I followed the Orioles with great interest this year, watching many games on my computer and visiting Camden Yards for two games.

Somewhere the sun is shining [Editorial]

It was somewhere around the time when J.J. Hardy came up to bat with two outs in the top of the 9th inning in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series trailing Kansas City 2-1 while also behind in the best-of-seven series, 3-0, when it occurred to us that the Orioles might actually...
