If the O'Malley administration keeps taxing everything we do, what we buy, the bridges we cross, etc., we will soon be taxed for the pets we have. Oh no! I shouldn't have mentioned that!

Typical teatard goofiness. O'Malley did not invent the sales tax or bridge tolls. By the way, if you consider a registration fee a tax, owning pets is already taxed since you need a license for a dog or cat by regulation --- and O'Malley did not start that fee either.
The reason we're going to pay more is because federal aid to Maryland is dwindling and/or unavailable. Here's why: (1) Federal receipts--as a % of GDP--are at a 60 year low. (2) Congressional Republicans are blocking any new stimulus proposals. (3) Congressional Republicans are blocking all efforts to tax the rich more, even though the rich are enjoying their lowest tax rates, and their highest share of our nation's wealth, since the 1920s.
1 + 2 + 3 = You and I paying more at the state and local level. It's just a fact. If it's any consolation, the Koch brothers are thankful to us that they don't have to make any sacrifices on their $50 billion fortune.
