Is Obama incompetent or just out of the loop?

Day after day, headlines report that President Barack Obama was never told about this or that ("German paper: Obama told in 2010 about phone spying," Oct. 28). The president's refusal to associate himself with critical events happening in this country can mean either of two things — he refuses to take responsibility or is just not up to the task.

Whichever the case, it is proving to be a huge embarrassment for this administration and a disappointment for all of Mr. Obama's loyal supporters. From the slaughter in Benghazi to the IRS targeting of conservative groups, the rollout of the Obamacare website and the most recent allegations of spying on our closest allies, so much damage has been done. Yet Mr. Obama contends he knows nothing about these incidents, and that he was never informed.

Don't the American citizens deserve better in a leader? One has to wonder, just who is running this country?
