Jean Marbella was only partly right in her recent column about the Little Sisters of the Poor's lawsuit challenging the Affordable Care Act ("Baltimore-area nuns fighting Obamacare rule," Jan. 4).

While the Little Sisters of the Poor are in fact fighting the provision in the law that requires employee health plans to provide contraception coverage, she failed to note that such plans also cover sterilization and potentially abortion for the employees in their nursing homes.

I would be willing to bet that President Obama, in promoting the glories of his pet legislation, never dreamed that he would have to confront such formidable foes as the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Ms. Marbella thinks the Little Sisters' fight is "a waste of time and energy," but she simply doesn't understand how strongly the nuns will stick to the courage of their convictions.

They do have the First Amendment of the Constitution on their side where it states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

God bless the Little Sisters of the Poor. They are a virtuous, strong, staunch, valiant, noble and gutsy order of ladies.
