The liberal media, of which The Sun is unapologetically a part, has failed to report on the fact that George Zimmerman was confronted not by a Barack Obama look-alike or 17-year-old cherubic-faced "child," but by a young man well over six feet in height who was more "developed," both physically, and shall we say, socially ("The NRA sticks to its guns," April 17). The press also has failed to report on the fact that Mr. Zimmerman was also injured by this "child," as evidenced by a laceration to the back of his head. It should be noted that repeatedly having your head slammed into the concrete is just as likely to kill you as a bullet. And, of course, there is absolutely no credence given to the reports of an eyewitness!
And Mr. Zimmerman, who is of mixed ethnicity not unlike President Obama, is referred to as a "white" Hispanic. The story would be politically boring if "they" couldn't "make" Mr. Zimmerman white! And where is the condemnation of the New Black Panther Party which is calling for mayhem and murder in response to this incident, the facts of which are not yet known for certain?
Now, in order to be polite, I will not refer to your third paragraph as untruthful. You refer to Wayne LaPierre's warning about Mr. Obama's anti-Second Amendment intentions where you (erroneously) conclude: "Of course, Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind during his first term, but why let the facts stand in the way of a good rant?" Are you serious? Have you ever heard of a thing called The United Nations? How about the UN's Treaty on Small Arms? Mr. Obama has authorized Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to join in passing this treaty! Everyone knows the UN wants to disarm the people of the world. Mr. Obama's signature on this treaty will be the death knell, not only of our Second Amendment rights, but in doing so, he would begin to surrender our national sovereignty, and our Constitutional rights to that cesspool on the East River in New York.
Finally, please stop using that old, failed, and yet-to-be-realized "Dodge City scenario" where everyone is gunning down everyone else. In spite of all of your hopes and desires for that to be true, it simply does not happen. John R. Lott Jr. addressed that in great, unchallengeable detail, and proved the antithesis of your argument. When the people are allowed to carry guns, crime declines — not in some cases, but in every case.
That's the truth. But, as was said by actor Jack Nicholson in "A Few Good Men": "You can't handle the truth!"
