Regarding your editorial on Del. Heather Mizeur's claim to have provided health care coverage to 50,000 children, the policy change that made the difference was indeed her idea, and she worked with her colleagues to make it happen ("Spin control," May 8).

Ms. Mizeur has subsequently been invited to explain to other states how it can be done.

Early in her legislative career, when Ms. Mizeur first talked with colleagues about the large number of eligible poor children not covered by Medicaid, the response was always "there's nothing we can do, we can't make them more eligible."

It took Ms. Mizeur's creative problem-solving to suggest a solution. She does have a right to take credit for that, and if you're covering this campaign you ought to know about it.
