The imperial mentality behind Obamacare

As one of the 76,000 Marylanders who have lost their Medicare gap insurance, I always thought that we elected people to go to Washington to represent us ("Obama, some Marylanders grapple with dropped insurance plans," Nov. 6).

I know now that they make laws without reading or understanding them, that they want to force us to purchase products or services that take away our choices because once elected, they think they know what's best for us, and that they think they are better than us so they exempt themselves from the laws they pass.

I wonder what is the next product they will force us to buy — maybe electric cars or maybe a new tax on all U.S. citizens who heat their homes with oil, or a carbon tax. Voters, please wake up kick all of them to the curb. I, for one, want my freedom back.
