Memo to the mayor: Try Howard Street after midnight next time [Letter]

If Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake wants to see if the streets are safe, she should "stroll" down Howard Street to the Inner Harbor between midnight and 4 a.m. by herself, not surrounded by city and state police and the media.

These photo opportunities are about as silly as can be ("Mayor strolls to show safe streets," June 5). The streets of this city are running red with blood, and we have to suffer this indignity.

C.D. Wilmer, Baltimore
