Why is anyone surprised by Standard and Poor's downgrading U.S. debt? I'm surprised it took this long. President Barack Obama and the members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate have been behaving like little kids, pushing their own agendas to the detriment of our country.

This has been going on for years. What's the first thing these people did when they found out about the downgrade? They complained about it. They don't think they did anything wrong. Just like little kids, who say, "we didn't do it."

They got a wake-up call and they don't like it. The people don't like it either. When are they going to admit they messed up and correct this problem? This bunch? Never. You can't fix something until you admit it's broken.

We need elected officials that work together for the betterment of all. It's a shame we can't remove the President and every member of Congress from office and start over with all new elected officials to fix our economy and our country. We may not be able to replace every senator, but everyone else is up for reelection next year. Think about it.
