I can't understand why making it harder to obtain citizenship if you are here illegally would alienate Latino voters ("Immigration group protests GOP retreat in Cambridge," Jan. 29). If I had to wait, sometimes years, to become a citizen, I wouldn't like to see scofflaws sneak in and eventually get citizenship. No other country in the world would consider such a policy. We are a country ruled by laws and should be held accountable for breaking them. Anyone who breaks our laws, including illegal entry, should be bared from ever becoming a citizen.
If the Democrats get their $3 minimum wage hike, we will see just how secure our borders are.
All our legal Latinos better wake up because it's their jobs these illegal immigrants will be taking. Instead of 25 men outside a 7-11 waiting for contractors, there will be 200 men — and only 15 jobs available.
Good luck with that.
