To permit a $475,000 home to be sold for $75,000 or rent for $475 a month, at taxpayer expense, is the type of entitlement that must be stopped and shows why Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake needs to be replaced("Is this house worth $475K?" June 19). These homes could have been built for less money had they not had wood floors and other amenities, and to add these amenities to these homes is a slap in the face to the taxpayer.

If people want to live in homes of this value, let them work and save their own money, not use ours. Politicians talk about cutting entitlements, like Social Security, which we pay into when we work. So why work if the government is going to give money away?
