Regarding your article about the filming of the popular TV series "House of Cards" in Maryland, the Maryland Film Production Employment Act of 2011 has an approximately $400 million economic impact in the state of Maryland and generates thousands of jobs ("Senator faults administration effort to keep 'House of Cards,'" Feb. 21).

Yet the funding level in House Bill 520 is less than in the past and is jeopardizing the gains in employment and local investment. The Maryland Film Production Employment Act is a great deal for Maryland.

The cap on House Bill 520 should be raised to levels consistent with the last fiscal year so that thousands of jobs and business opportunities for Marylanders can be sustained.
