Your article on Gov. Martin O'Malley's defense of the state health exchange also imparted the views of the other Democratic gubernatorial candidates ("O'Malley continues defense of health exchange," Jan. 12).
Now I want to share my program, which I call "the people's program for health care."
Obamacare is a failure. Using my leadership skills, I will ask the citizens of Maryland to call their congressional delegation and demand their representatives support legislation to repeal Obamacare. Why keep a program that does not work? It makes no sense.
When I make a mistake, I have the guts to admit I am wrong. The same cannot be said of the phony career politicians who display no courage in owning up to their mistakes.
If elected governor, I will appoint a five-member committee consisting of two highly respected medical physicians, a dean from a law school in Maryland, a highly respected member of the clergy and a lay person who has paid his/her share of taxes for at least 20 years and has no record of criminal activity.
In other words, the General Assembly will not be able to "screw up" this medical health insurance plan. We will have a real people's program developed by the people and for the people.
