A National Guard to protect schools

There have been far too many tragedies involving innocent victims murdered by people with guns. It seems no school is safe. Americans need to protect both teachers and students, and one way to do that is to put armed security guards in every school.

The state could form its own security force for schools along the lines of the National Guard. All the guards would be volunteers trained by local police, and they could live close to the school they protected. If enough people were recruited, there would always be at least two guards on duty, equipped with radios and guns.
