Maryland leadership must answer for exchange woes [Letter]

It is about time that someone in the press has laid blame where it belongs ("Time for someone to take the blame," April 3). I have been in charge of several program roll out situations and have always taken the responsibility to "log on" and make sure it works. Obviously, the state of Maryland and its leaders did not think of doing this simple task with the health exchange. It shows that the government, federal and state, is not capable of doing such a massive task. Simple management skills would dictate that the one in charge would have logged on to test the system. Totally leaving it up to the sub-contractors is a path to disaster. And then blaming them shows total lack of leadership.

The amazing thing is that due to a lack of real press coverage, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown will probably win the election and we will have someone leading Maryland who is seriously lacking in management skills.
