Estate tax penalizes next generation [Letter]

The article exploring the pros and cons of lowering the estate tax omitted the most relevant point for moving from Maryland — to protect family wealth ("Estate tax relief seems on track in Annapolis," Feb. 3).

Parents will do anything for their children, including moving to another state to assure wealth accumulated over a lifetime of hard work and already taxed two or three times isn't confiscated by the state.
