Election year blues [Letter]

Kevin KamenetzAnthony Brown

In the upcoming primary election I can't vote for Anthony Brown because besides the Obamacare rollout he was in charge of I can't figure out what he did as lieutenant governor for the last eight years. All he talks about is his parents coming from another country and his adoption of a child.

Del. Jon Cardin is another sad example of our representation in the legislature. As attorney general he would probably have to go home more often than he went to court.

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz voted for a salary increase for the future county executive but had to face the possibility of contempt of court for failure to obey a ruling on his failure to refund overpayment of police retirement health insurance, which cost the county residents over $200,000 besides the return of the  money the county collected illegally.

On guns, Hogan must have something to hide

It doesn't take much to recognize that a politician who refuses to release his answers to a questionnaire from an organization that lobbies the legislature may be suspected of having something to hide ("What did Hogan tell the NRA?" Oct. 21).

    Brown's pre-K promises don't add up

Throughout the last two months, the Anthony Brown campaign has accused Larry Hogan of being "extreme" and "dangerous" in regard to his views on two volatile issues — a woman's right to choose and the regulation of assault weapons. Time and again, in a variety of...

Tom Schaller's Oct. 20 column, "The Connie Morella effect," was most interesting. I knew Connie Morella well. She was an English professor at Montgomery College when I was teaching Political Science there. We continued our friendship over the years when she was in Congress and...

What did Hogan tell the NRA?

Based on what Republican gubernatorial candidate Larry Hogan has said about gun control, it's hard to see what the National Rifle Association would find appealing about him. He has said that although he opposed the strict new gun control legislation Gov. Martin O'Malley championed two...

Moms want answers from Hogan on guns

Despite gubernatorial candidate Larry Hogan's public flip-flopping on guns and the Maryland Firearms Safety Act — he must have some of a stance on guns. He completed a questionnaire for National Rifle Association that earned him an "A-" rating from the Washington gun...

Brown has lost this Democrat's vote

I woke up on the first day of early voting in Maryland to a depressingly familiar front page headline in The Sun — "Race for governor resorts to untruths" (Oct. 23). With it came the usual mix of disgust, anger and frustration that I have felt every day of this gubernatorial...

    Hogan misleads on Md. economy

Larry Hogan's main campaign pitch is that under Gov. Martin O'Malley and Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, "excessive taxes … have poisoned the business climate" resulting in "lost businesses, jobs, and taxpayers at an alarming rate," ("Hogan, Brown clash on...
