U.S. car subsidies are good but China's are bad?

President Barack Obama has announced that the U.S. is filing an official trade complaint against China for unfairly subsidizing its car industry. The claim is that by subsidizing the Chinese car industry, China is giving its local car industry an unfair advantage, and not allowing true free-market forces to work.
