U.S. kids shortchanged by immigrants [Letter]

The 50 children headed for St. Vincent's Villa ("Standing up for children," July 21) will invariably take up spaces that are needed by children here who are being subjected to countless physical and mental abuses.

These U.S. children will not receive the rescue that they need. How do you think we should explain that to the innocent kids whose abuse will continue and continue?
