Did PC attitude hamper FBI in Boston?

FBIJustice SystemTamerlan TsarnaevAl-Qaeda

The FBI had previously been warned by the Russian government that the 26-year-old Boston bombing terrorist Tamerlan Tsarnaev was being radicalized ("Bombing suspect faces U.S. charges," April 23). The FBI interviewed him and then just opened the door and said have a good day. No further attention was given him by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Why? When he left the United States and went to Russia in 2012 for six months, there was no questioning of him by the FBI at his return. Why?

There are only three possible answers. The FBI discounted the Russian intelligence information. The FBI was inept in their initial questioning and background investigation. Or the hypersensitivity of the Obama administration policy of not being accused of Islamophobia filtered down into the ranks of the FBI investigative policy. Most likely all three played a part in the FBI's failure to keep Tamerian Tsarnaev under investigation.

It is time to stop with this political correctness policy of not profiling Muslims for fear of being called racist. We are at war with al-Qaida, and their supporters all use the Muslim religion as their battle cry. Unless the FBI and other law enforcement agencies are able to shed the handcuffs of profiling our enemy, more tragedies similar to Boston will occur within our borders.

As much as I would love to see monster Dzhokhar Tsarnaev executed, one consideration holds me back and is missing from your report. Namely, if he were put to death, it would make him a martyr in the eyes of radical Islamic terrorists ("Death penalty sought for alleged Boston bomber...

Scandal is not Rolling Stone but U.S. complacency

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is a monster, but that shouldn't restrict investigation into his beliefs that led up to the Boston Marathon bombing. This act of terrorism was abhorrent, but I don't fault Rolling Stone for doing an article on the subject, or for putting the remaining...
