Baltimore needs leaders who wear sensible shoes

Kudos to the local leaders profiled in The Sun who did not take part in the "fashion shoot" ("50 Women to watch in Baltimore," July 22).

You would think the mayor and her deputies, the Anne Arundel County executive and the city schools chief might have more pressing items on their schedule than modeling designer dresses.

There's nothing wrong with looking great, but thankfully Baltimore also has plenty of leaders in sensible shoes willing to get things done.
