Two recent statements by Gov. O'Malley about the status of Maryland's health exchange have caused me concern. Recently, the governor was quoted as saying that "we're almost at a point where we can unleash our marketing plan" ("O'Malley says major health exchange problems are fixed," Dec. 15).
Then on Saturday he had said the site "is now functional for most citizens."
Since when does merely getting close to your established goals serve as a reason to pat yourself on the back? By the same reasoning, if the governor were allowed to run for another term, I would almost vote for him.
