This letter is to John Harbaugh of The Ravens:

Dear John,

I like you for Baltimore football, but...The buck stops with you when our offense is so ineffective. It reminds me of the boring Marchibroda days that had "hey diddle diddle, Lydell up the middle." Many fans blame Cam Cameron (who has the consistency of a melting icicle), but just like it was not Elvis Grback's fault when Brian Billick kept him far too long, it is not Cam's fault to stay in this lucrative position that you continue to offer him.

I like you for Baltimore football, but...When you decided not to keep Matt Stover as a mentor for at least a year while a new kicker gains the much-needed NFL grit and character, you have cost us very important points that would have given us a better record. I could also expound on the incredible situation of having Joe Flacco and Troy Smith, which could totally confuse opposing defenses, but doing something like that is the work of a visionary pioneer -- are you one?

I like you for Baltimore football, but...You need to go back to your original thoughts and ways of doing things and not fall into the Brian Billick scene of getting peter-principled out. We all had high hopes after last year, but those hopes are fading quickly. Please be the coach and leader of our Ravens. Take control of this team, which was on the verge of great things. Do what needs to be done.

Sincerely,

Duke Thompson, Havre de Grace
