However, Ryan withdrew from the race amid sexual allegations by his ex-wife. Alan Keyes replaced Ryan on the ballot, and in the general election, Obama won easily, grabbing 70 percent of the vote.

Drive to register voters gears up
The eagerness echoed with each door knock. At the first stop on Church Street, no one answered the door, and the man in the backyard said he didn't speak English. So Chuck Cook, hungry for a score, gave brief chase after a car stopped at a traffic light....Tags: Polls, The White House, Government, National Government, George Bush

Free to attack
Now we know why John McCain invited Sarah Palin onto the Republican ticket: She is the little rabid attack dog who will, with apparent impunity (because she is a woman), use innuendo and lies to attack Barack Obama on a personal basis. Shame on her....Tags: Sarah Palin, John McCain
