Dunning -- another fallacious ad hominem attack by the opponents of equality.
Which is sillier: for heterosexuals to issue decrees on marriage, even though they themselves keep failing over and over? Or clergy issuing edicts on morality, notwithstanding their celibate cluelessness on marital sex and their complicity in pedophilia?
Or is this just too many big polysyllables for the gay-bashing crowd?

Yet another slap at organized religion by the atheist editors of the Baltimore Sun.

Every single religious argument against extending the freedom to marry to gay and lesbian couples has yet to prove merit.
Those who use the Bible to protest marriage cherrypick verses suited to their opinion instead of seeing the larger context of what the writer was conveying to his or her audience many centuries ago. To use Leviticus, for example, to deny marriage rights to a minority of the population is ludicrous. If you're going to deny rights to "men who lie with men" you would also have to deny marriage rights to people who have tattoos, eat shellfish (disqualifying most Marylanders), and wear tattoos. If you remember that this book was written to Jewish priests to follow a holiness code over 2000 years ago, you would have to think twice if it applies to society in 2012.
For those who say that it's "God's will" that gays and lesbians should not be married or should go to hell or should be put to death, I say don't insult God by claiming it's His will when it's actually yours. Get real. God is a God of mercy, compassion, and love who wants all of his children to be happy.
So who's attacking who, indeed.
