After a long career in local and state government, Harford County Executive David Craig is in a position to either run for governor or retire. A former teacher and principal, he has strong connections in Annapolis from his days in the legislature and is well regarded by members of both parties. He got his bachelors degree from what was then Towson State Teachers College and a masters degree from Morgan State University.
Advantages: Mr. Craig is a pragmatic moderate with more government experience than any of the prospective candidates from either party.
