The priciest home to sell in Baltimore in September came with plenty of the usual upscale touches, plus some less typical ones.
"We sold it furnished — a lot of furniture conveyed, let's put it that way," said Bob Lucido, the listing agent for the property, which sits just shy of the city-county line in the North Roland Park/Poplar Hill neighborhood.
The six-bedroom Colonial on Washingtonville Drive sold for $1.25 million, the top city sale that month and No. 14 in the Baltimore region.
Mark Powers, who sold the house with wife Bonnie, built it in 2003 — along with the rest of the small subdivision. (Mark Powers and brother Jeff own homebuilder Powers Homes.)
"Everything was truly, truly custom," said Lucido, president of the Bob Lucido Team at ReMax Advantage Realty in Fulton. "They had walnut floors, they had a kitchen that had two dishwashers — it was just a gorgeous kitchen. … Every component of the house had a custom feature. There was no dollar spared."
Among the elements: a family room with a two-sided fireplace, skylights in the loft level, a movie theater, a game room and a pond. Two ponds, in a manner of speaking: a small one off the patio and the larger community pond abutting the backyard.
"The buyers love the house and the furniture," Lucido said. But not everything sold with the property. "We had a Bentley in the garage; we had to keep telling people the Bentley was not included."
