The 4,800-square-foot home at 238 Riverside Road overlooks Warehouse Creek, off the South River, and has its own boathouse on 211 feet of waterfront property.
Charlie Buckley, who sold the home for the owners, said the home's main selling points were its privacy and its expansive waterfront property line. Many homes in the area typically have around 50 or 60 feet of waterfront, while this property was several times that, he said.
"What was cool about this property is it was wide on the water," Buckley said. "It sold very quickly."
The home's features include a pool, ample outdoor decking, 51/2 bathrooms, and a large kitchen with slab granite counters, two dishwashers, a pantry, and an under-counter wine cooler. It also has a five-car garage.
Buckley said the sellers priced the home right and marketed it well. Buckley, who deals exclusively in waterfront homes in the Annapolis area, said values for such homes has plunged 35 percent since 2006.
The sellers, Michael and Andrea Zomber, bought the home in 2009 for $2 million, according to state property records. The new owner was not yet listed in the state's online property database.
Buckley said he believes that home sellers who have had properties on the market for more than six months probably haven't priced their homes correctly. He has about 50 waterfront properties he has listed for sale.
"The biggest mistake sellers are making is not pricing it to the current market," Buckley said. "There's actually a lot of buyers out there right now."
