Why does it seem everyone is trying to place blame for the fatal York Road and Northern Parkway crash on the police ("Police were ordered off pursuit before fatal crash, union says," Sept. 27)?
The blame goes to the speeding driver who ran the red light. If he survived, he would have been charged and prosecuted for the accident.
If he had pulled over for the police, not sped off and run the light, there would be no accident to discuss. Why are people making violent thugs out to be blameless?
When thugs live their lives with no regard to anyone else's, the collateral damage they do sweeps up the innocent as well. It may be a stray bullet. This time the weapon was a car.
Put the blame where it belongs — on the person who ran from police, was speeding and who ignored a red light.
