Turgeon a fine choice but needs players
To learn that Coach Mark Turgeon was coming to Maryland to continue his winning ways was a breath of fresh air. Maryland needs a winning team every year. But I was very disappointed to learn that top recruits Nick Faust and Sterling Gibbs have been released from their letters-of-intent to play for Maryland.
The University of Maryland is the state's premiere college. They play in the Atlantic Coast Conference against the best of the best. The coach needs the best talent in the area to represent Maryland and to win a national championship — for his sake and for the fans.
I know that "superstars" like Faust and Gibbs do not read this section of the paper, but I am hoping that someone who knows these two lads will tell them that it would be wonderful for them to go to Maryland and to be on a winning basketball team playing the likes of Duke and North Carolina.
