Obama hasn't come clean on Libyan consulate attack

Barack ObamaJohn F. Kennedy

When the bay of pigs fiasco erupted not long after President John F. Kennedy took office, he promptly appeared on nationwide television and accepted the blame. This took courage and revealed his character. I immediately respected him.

When the attack occurred on the American consulate in Benghazi, however, President Obama appeared before the country and gave an inaccurate account. Since then he has not corrected his statement nor apologized, but instead has delegated that chore to his subordinates.

What does this tell us about his character? The presidency is the most powerful position in the world. How will he use his power to curry favor in the remaining days before the election?
