Fact: The Republican Party's No. 1 goal in 2009 was to see that President Barack Obama did not get reelected.
Opinion: The No. 1 goal should have been to do what is best for the country and resolve as many issues as possible as we dropped precipitously into the George W. Bush recession. Republicans, for the most part, have no "empathy" for the 47-percenters. The goal of making sure Mr. Obama failed during his four years in office showed the real Republican agenda — arrogance, spitefulness, divisiveness, "whiteness," gender misrepresentation and other self-centered goals to protect their party and not to help their fellow Americans.
How did that work out, Bob Ehrlich? ("Facts and opinions in election's aftermath," Nov. 11.)
