Joseph Dale McPhee, died Sept. 12, 2011, at his sister's home in DeForest, Wis.
He was born Dec. 6, 1950, at Lockwood Hospital in Petoskey.
Mr. McPhee was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Watson McPhee.
He is survived by his father, Robert McPhee, of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Gary and his wife, Linda, of Boiling Springs, S.C.; brother, Victor and his wife, Karen, of Charlotte, N.C.; and his sister, Judy and her husband, Thomas, and daughter, Alice, of DeForest.
Mr. McPhee was retired from the Sara Lee Bakery in Madison, Wis.
His great joys in life were his cat Crazy, kayaking in lake Monona and cross country skiing in Governor Nelson State Park.
In his final illness, Mr. McPhee was attended by the doctors and nurses at the Carbone Cancer Center at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and expresses great appreciation of their care and kindness to him.
Mr. McPhee's friends and family relied on him for help and support and his loss will be felt by many.
