Wendy S. Levy, director of procurement and administrative services for Publishers' Circulation Fulfillment Inc. for two decades, died Tuesday of breast cancer at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Towson. She was 57.
The daughter of Arnold Kleinfeld, a packaging salesman, and Helena Dressner Kleinfeld, a New York City public schools social worker, Wendy Susan Kleinfeld was born in New York City and raised in Great Neck, N.Y. She graduated in 1975 from Great Neck North High School.
She attended Syracuse University. In 1982, she married Dr. Harold M. "Hal" Levy, a dentist, and two years later moved to Baltimore.
Ms. Levy worked as an accountant for Jiffy Lube and then in real estate investment for Signet Bank before joining Publishers' Circulation Fulfillment Inc. as assistant comptroller in 1994. She rose through the company until being named its director of procurement and administrative services, the position she held at her death.
The longtime Pikesville resident was a gourmet cook and also enjoyed attending the movies and theater, reading and traveling.
"Her real specialty was baking and one of her specialties was her chocolate torte," said her husband. "Whenever we went out, she made the dessert."
Ms. Levy was a former member of Temple Oheb Shalom.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Ramat Shalom, 11301 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation, Fla.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Levy is survived by a son, Ian Levy of Baltimore; a daughter, Hillary Levy of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; her mother, Helena Friedman of Tamarac, Fla; and three sisters, June Wolf of St. Louis, Alison Dolberg of Plantation, Fla., and Stefanie Marko of Shelburne, Vt.
