Kathleen C. Bianco, a retired Baltimore County government administrator, died July 4 of cancer at Stella Maris Hospice. The Fallston resident was 67.
Kathleen Carolyn Hendrickle was born in Baltimore and raised in Arbutus, where she graduated from Arbutus High School in 1963.
Even though she had been awarded a full academic scholarship to the University of Maryland, College Park, she was unable to attend, said her husband of 18 years, Tony Bianco, a retired technical business consultant.
Mrs. Bianco worked as a receptionist for a podiatrist until she joined the Baltimore County Department of Finance in 1976. Four years later, she became an administrator for the county's Board of Appeals, where she worked until retiring in 2008.
A music lover with a wide range of interests, Mrs. Bianco began piano lessons in 1999. She was also an avid reader and was a fan of West Highland white terriers.
Mrs. Bianco was a communicant of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Kingsville.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph N. Zannino Jr. Funeral Home, 263 S. Conkling St., Baltimore.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bianco is survived by her daughter, Dawn M. Weidenhammer of Rosedale; two stepsons, Carl A. Bianco of Bel Air and Frank A. Bianco of Lancaster, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Lauri A. Greer-Bianco of Crownsville; and four step-grandchildren.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
