Judith M. "Judy" Connolly, a former educator who later worked for H&R Block, died Sunday of cancer at Northwest Hospital. She was 59.
Judith Marie Connolly was born in Baltimore and raised in Rockdale, where she lived her entire life.
Ms. Connolly was a 1971 graduate of Archbishop Keough High School and earned a bachelor's degree in 1975 from what is now Towson University.
She taught mathematics for several years and later was principal of Holy Family Elementary School in Randallstown.
In 1994, Ms. Connolly went to work for H&R Block preparing income-tax returns and later rose to become manager of its Woodlawn office. She stopped working two years ago.
Ms. Connolly was an accomplished needleworker and quilter. She also was an avid collector of antique hat pins and hat pin holders.
She was an active communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 9531 Liberty Road, Randallstown, where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Surviving are her mother, E. Olivia Connolly of Randallstown; a brother, George R. Connolly Jr. of Littlestown, Pa.; and several nephews and a niece.
