John WIlliam Gryder

John William Gryder, who taught chemistry at the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="OREDU0000116" title="Johns Hopkins University" href="/topic/education/colleges-universities/johns-hopkins-university-OREDU0000116.topic">Johns Hopkins University</a> for 40 years and was a civil rights activist, died Jan. 26 of complications from <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="HEDAI000007" title="Alzheimer's Disease" href="/topic/health/diseases-illnesses/alzheimers-disease-HEDAI000007.topic">dementia</a> at <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100603012800" title="Roland Park" href="/topic/us/maryland/baltimore-county/baltimore/roland-park-PLGEO100100603012800.topic">Roland Park</a> Place. He was 85.
