Verona A. Bertsch, 86, of Bloomington, Minn., was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Mellette and passed away peacefully on March 12, 2013, in Rogers, Minn., surrounded by her family.
Verona was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; parents, Ernest and Anna Grandpre; brother, Virgil Grandpre; and other family members and friends.
Verona is survived by her children: Veronica (Greg) White, Ruth (Dennis) Isaacs, Curtis Bertsch, Elizabeth (Kelly) Hirsch and Toni (Scott Anderson) Bertsch; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Verona graduated from Brentford High School in 1944. She went on to become a nurse through Presentation College of Nursing in Aberdeen.
She and Lyle were married June 1951, and moved their family to Minnesota in 1960.
Verona was a longtime member of the VFW and Cooties Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for Alzheimer's research.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 901 E. 90th St., Bloomington Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Werness Brothers Chapel, 2300 W Old Shakopee Rd.
