Aberdeen: The funeral service for Pearl Wacholz, 82, of Aberdeen will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Zion Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, with Pastor Tanya Rist officiating.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Aberdeen.
Pearl died Monday, July 25, 2011, at ManorCare Health Services in Aberdeen.
Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., in Aberdeen.
Pearl Jeannette Nelson was born June 8, 1929, to Emil and Oda (Herrmanson) Nelson in Galesburg ND. She grew up and attended school in southern Minnesota.
Pearl moved to Minneapolis, MN, where on February 15, 1947, she was united in marriage to Loren Wacholz. Loren and Pearl settled in Mansfield, MN, where three children were added to this union. Loren passed away in January of 1966. Pearl was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed fishing and boating, playing bingo, caring for her dogs and cooking. Above all, she enjoyed her time spent with family.
Grateful for having shared Pearl's life are her children: David Wacholz (LeAnn West), Bellview, NE, Carol Everson, Jordan, MN, and Linda (Merle) Weisz, Aberdeen, SD; sister, Millie Hartly of WA; grandchildren: Jon (Amy) Wacholz, Redfield, SD, Lana (Marty) Bradley, New Underwood, SD, Brian (Bonnie) Wacholz, Aberdeen, SD, Christopher Everson (Monica), (former granddaughter-in-law, Steph Everson), Silver Lake, MN, Jennifer (Scott) Gulden, St. Cloud, MN, Jeff (Barb) Wacholz, Aberdeen, SD, Amy Swenson (Mike Ramnarine), Eagen, MN, Jessica (Mike) Moser, Aberdeen, SD, and Kristin Weisz, Ipswich, SD; great-grandchildren: Jazmine Fahlsing, Raven Wacholz, Hailey Wacholz, Tonja Bradley, Terry Wacholz, Keagan Everson, Matt Gulden, Jeffrey L. Wacholz (Anysia Reed), Joshua Wacholz (Samm Bohn), Jamie Wacholz and Adrianna Ramnarine; and great-great-grandson, Jaxon Wacholz.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Loren; parents, Emil and Oda Nelson; sister, Irene, sister, Eddie; brother, Elwood; grandchildren: Gary Swenson and Ryan Wacholz; great-grandchildren: Dustin Wacholz and Maleah Ramnarine; sons-in-law: Darold Swenson and Oliver Everson; and dogs, Gigi and Larry.
