Clovis, Calif.: Robert H. May, "Bob," peacefully passed into the arms of our Lord at home in Clovis, on Monday, May 2, 2011, after a long fight with ALS. Bob was born Feb. 16, 1946, and raised in Aberdeen, S.D. He was a decorated retired United States Marine Veteran of Vietnam, Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom and honorably served our country with great devotion. He was also a retired project manager for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
Bob loved camping, hiking and spending quality time with his family and friends. He was strongly devoted to the Lord and Auberry Community Church. He was a member of the Auberry Community Church and the Marine Corps League.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; son, David, and his wife, Michelle, of Prather, Calif.; daughter, Julie, and her husband, Jason Burkhart, of Vista, Calif.; his brother, Jack, and his wife, Alice, of Aberdeen, S.D.; and his sister, Nancy, and her husband, Tim Stork, of Omaha, Neb. And his three grandchildren: Sierra, Dakota, and Hunter.
A memorial service was held at Auberry Community Church, Auberry, Calif., on Monday, May 9, 2011, at 11 a.m., Pastor Blake Slater officiating.
