Tim Russert is the former award-winning moderator of MSNBC's "Meet the Press" and Washington Bureau chief for NBC News. Russert died June 13, 2008 at age 58 of a heart attack while recording voiceovers for "Meet the Press." Russert began hosting "Meet the Press" in December 1991 and was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine in 2008.Russert was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on May 7, 1950. He joined NBC News in 1984 after working on several political campaigns and went on to hold various supervisory positions in NBC. Russert authored two New York Times bestsellers -- "Big Russ and Me" in 2004 and "Wisdom of Our Fathers" in 2006.
