Police are trying to unearth clues in the murder of a man, his 400-pound, decomposing body found mutilated in a blood-soaked, duffel bag.

Investigators say police arrived at the Justice Sonia Sotomayor Houses on Bruckner Boulevard in the Soundview section of the Bronx, when a rancid odor caused them to turn their attention to another apartment on the sixth floor.

Upon further investigation, the officers found a rotting body in the kitchen, blood all over the floor, cleaning products everywhere and a bloody hatchet nearby.

There is no official identification. But neighbors refer to him as "Angel," one man describing him as "nice" to him and his children. However, there's speculation "Angel" may've been dealing drugs from his apartment.
