Evan Doherty is an eight-year-old skateboard phenom from Greenwood, Mo and he has one of the hottest videos onYouTube right now. The video has received over a million hits!

"When he was three, he came to me and said, 'Mom, I need a skateboard," his mom Patricia Doherty said. "Finally, at four and a half, I got him a skateboard."

Evan said he just wanted to get started after seeing other "dudes" rip it up on their boards.  Now, skaters older than him see his natural talent.

"He gets on a board and it's natural to him, he can feel it," photographer Joseph Pollock said.

Evan loves the rush -- but admits that hitting big air can also be a little nerve-wracking.

"It's really fun, kinda scary," Evan said. "If you try to get so high, it's really scary getting up that high."

The Missouri boy has even taken his skills across the border, but says his favorite skate park is stateside, in Venice Beach.  And big stars have taken notice.

"Tony Hawk tweeted about me," Evan said.

Evan's big video hit was performing a 720 -  a move first captured on his dad's cell phone and then Evan stuck it again for Pollock's camera.  It blew up onYouTube (to see his video, click here).

"I knew he had skill, but I didn't know it would be at eight-years-old," Pollock said.
