The British royal family announced the delivery of the newest heir to the throne in a simple statement delivered by both modern and traditional methods.
It was sent out at about 8:30 p.m. London time via email and social networks. A short time later, following tradition, a slightly abbreviated version was posted on an easel at Buckingham Palace.
